Polynucleotides are naturally occurring molecules derived from salmon DNA. When injected as a clear solution, they are used in aesthetic treatments to support skin rejuvenation. Polynucleotide treatment improves the skin quality on a cellular level and can be used to hydrate the skin, treat dark under-eye circles, treat fine lines around the eyes and lips, rejuvenate scars or improve overall texture to your face, neck or hands to give skin a healthy glow.
When polynucleotides are injected into the skin, they work by stimulating the body’s natural repair mechanisms, repairing damaged cells, boosting collagen and elastin production. They also possess anti-inflammatory properties, so can reduce redness and swelling, making them useful for treating conditions like acne and rosacea
Polynucleotides increase the skin’s ability to retain moisture, resulting in a more hydrated complexion, so they are excellent for treating dry / dehydrated skin. They can accelerate the wound healing process, helping to minimise recovery from ablative procedures like laser treatments or micro-needling, and can be used to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and acne scarring.
Polynucleotides are created from salmon DNA using a proprietary process. There is an extraction and purification process which ensures the safety and compatibility of the product for use in human skin.
It is recommended to have a course of three treatments , once every 4 weeks for optimum results then once every 6 months. If you have particular issues with your skin, you may require more.
There is very little downtime after a treatment. In most cases, topical anaesthetic isn't required. Possible side effects include bruising and a small bolus (lump under the skin) these disappear after a few days with gentle massage.
